A 5 session rolling programme of Ante-natal support & Birth Preparation, which can be dipped in and out of, or you can attend just one workshop, or do repeats.

Flexible to support individuals needs, packed full of information, use of the lending library, and a list of useful contacts for local & national organisations, to signpost to where necessary.

Session 1. Early to Mid Pregnancy Workshop – My changing body

Why leave all the birth prep until the 3rd trimester?
This workshop is suitable for anyone in the first and second trimester, a time where people have questions, symptoms, feelings that need support.

This workshop includes Tapping (EFT), Hypnosis for Pregnancy, Mindfulness and Meditation, as well as time to ask questions about your pregnancy and how it is progressing.
Time to feel safe and secure, and some lovely bonding meditations. Far too many women feel very alone at this time in pregnancy, and so this session has been created to support you during this period, and help you prepare for your weeks to come.

Each workshop is £45 per person.

Mum only sessions, with the exception of the Birth Partner workshop, where one Birth Partner attends at no extra cost.

10.30am to 2.30pm, Tuesdays or Saturdays

Session 2. Birth Choices and Plans

This workshop is very much about the physiology of birth, and planning for the birth.
First, we look at how our body works during birth. Practising positions for different stages of labour. Tools and techniques to help you best prepare your birth environment and your body.

Then we look at how you would like to manage the birth preferences.

Whether you know what sort of birth you want, or you are exploring options, this workshop is about looking at all of your options, looking at the “Am I Allowed?” questions, and together we come up with ideas for your Birth Plan.
Discussion on a wide range of topics such as Delayed Cord Clamping, What is Vitamin K? Can I eat throughout labour? Does birthing in water make such a difference? The difference between physiological 3rd stage versus managed 3rd stage. What happens if I need a Cesarean? And so much more.

This workshop includes some guided birth meditation (hypnobirthing) and EFT (Tapping) for any fears or concerns that could affect your birth.

Session 3. Hypnobirthing. Me, my mind and My body

Whether you have used Hypnobirthing before, or are new to it, this workshop uses Hypnobirthing Techniques, Mindfulness and Meditation for birth. During my 6 births, I felt that there was no ‘one single’ technique to use… each birth is different, and what I feel is crucial is to listen to your body, and your instinct. It is no good trying to follow one particular guided visualisation if you are a non-visual person. Breathing patterns may feel more important to you. Or something entirely different. It is normal to move from one technique to another if you feel it is right to, so following your instinct, and using tools and techniques that resonate with you are so important.
In this workshop we practice many different types of relaxation, meditations and Hypnobirthing techniques. So on the day, you can slip into whatever feels right for you.

Week 4. Birthing together

This workshop is the only one in the rolling program that is for couples. By couples, this means whoever is your birth partner. It is a follow on from Week 3, and best not as a stand-alone workshop, as we will be working with your partner to support what you have found to be most useful for you during the Hypnobirthing workshop.
We recap the physiology of birth, look at choices and birth plans, and practice comfort tools and techniques.

Session 5. Mindfulness, Breathwork and Hypnobirthing

Practising tools and techniques to help you prepare for the weeks at the end of pregnancy, as well as the birth of your baby.
An extension of Week 3 (can be attended as a standalone week if needed)

These Doula led workshops are run by Jay Kelly, a mother of 4, surrogate mother of 2, a Clinical Hypnotherapist, NLP master practitioner, EFT practitioner, Doula, Hypnobirthing teacher, Antenatal facilitator, and facilitator of the Harrogate Positive Birth Movement groups. Working in this field for over 14 years.
